The collection contains a clipping of an article from the Charlottesville Daily Progress describing the founding of the organization, announcing the first meeting and quoting extensively from C. Waller Barrett, chairman of the executive committee directing the project. There are also invitations and programs from dinner meetings of the Society, 1970 April 7, December 2, 1973 May 9, 1977 April 7, and 1985 November 6. The collection also contains a Christmas greeting from the Associates, 1994? enclosing a facsimile of a letter from James Madison to Thomas S. Grimke regarding the University of Virginia, 1830, October 23, and a [corrected proof?] of a note explaining the letter.
